Brad Ward

Head of OISTAT’s Sound Design Sub-commission & Senior Associate at Apeiro Design

Brad Ward is the head of OISTAT’s Sound Design Sub-commission. He’s a Senior Associate at Apeiro Design where he designs sound and video systems for the theatre and performance spaces around the world. He is also a NYC based Sound Designer. On Broadway, Brad was the sound designer for I NEED THAT and the associate/system designer for CHOIR BOY which won the Tony award for best sound in 2019 as well as a NYC based Sound Designer. For OISTAT, Brad was the curator for Sound Kitchen at World Stage Design in Taipei (2017) and Calgary(2022) and is presently working on programming for WSD 2024 in Sharjah, UAE. Brad has an MFA from Yale School of Drama.

Mac Johnson

Sound Designer & Market Development Manager at Point Source Audio

Mac has 30 years of experience with microphones on Broadway and beyond. Prior to joining the Point Source team, he toured as Production Sound Engineer on Broadway productions, as well as Sound Designer for theatrical productions, music festivals and corporate events. As a mixer and designer, Mac understands where the sound starts and how to capture it. As a performer, he knows how microphones act as an extension of an artist’s instrument. His role puts him on the front lines of markets requiring a true understanding of the design to integration processes.
